BEWARE OF TAMPER EVIDENCE IN BRAND DESIGN
For the design of packaging there are nowadays complex requirements. Among these are the brand typical appearance of the packaging, the use of environmentally friendly materials as well as the integration of tamper –resistant features. These high expectations can now be fulfilled, since labels have become a promising means for delivering the required security.
Over recent years there have been a number of cases where counterfeit products have been flooding the market. This naturally costs brand owners dearly, particularly where there is the need to protect consumer’s health. This means that products need to be given unique characteristics to offer greater protection from copycats.
Clarifoil offers a range of film materials suitable for pharmaceutical, cosmetics, cigarette, electronics and food products. The labels are produced from cellulose acetate making them entirely compostable. Using responsibly sourced wood pulp from controlled forestry, means they are bio-degradable and can be disposed of in sewage-treatment plants. If incinerated they produce energy, without causing any harmful emissions.
Clarifoil offers a choice of films in clear, white or customer specified colours, all of which are custom made to ensure they adhere to security related applications. Clarifoil is available in Matt, Satiné, Semitone and Gloss finishes. For added security different printing methods are used to best suit the intended application. The design options are limitless whatever colour or shape. Whether the design specification demands foil blocking or watermarking anything is achievable with Clarifoil. Even customised additives such as infrared-energised or fluorescent pigments can be incorporated in the label stock adding another dimension for authenticity purposes.
It doesn’t matter what substrate material the labels are intended to be applied to as Clarifoil is able to provide the appropriate formulas, allowing great flexibility. Clarifoil labels can adapt to the most complex shapes as the materials are stiff enough to simplify the machine processing, matrix stripping and die-cutting. For tamper evident labels Clarifoil implemented its “Integuard” range of films. Available in clear or white these can be applied via fully-automated plants and therefore are most efficient.
