{Clarifoil and the Environment}

Clarifoil's primary raw material, cellulose or cotton, are both naturally renewable resources. Our woodpulp contains no endangered hardwoods and is from managed plantations, with typically more trees planted annually than are harvested.

Within our plant, Clarifoil is recycled without quality loss, thus utilising most in-house waste and uncontaminated film collected from customers. Independent research has concluded that the quality of recycled carton board can be enhanced if orginally laminated with Clarifoil.

Clarifoil is safe to incinerate, yielding carbon dioxide and water without toxic residuals and can be landfilled without risk of toxic leachate. Under appropriate conditions Clarifoil will biodegrade and is compostable. UK legislation categorises Clarfoil together with paper and board for return and recovery purposes.

As environmental issues gain in prominence, so will the merits of Clarifoil.
